Metro

Metro International's newspapers and websites—headquartered in the U.K.—reach 17 million readers worldwide in print, and 200 million more online. In London, I oversaw their worldwide entertainment coverage, producing content that would run in America, Europe and South America, including big gets like Lady Gaga, Will Smith and Justin Bieber.

Lady Gaga

Interviewer | Collaborator

Our first global guest editor, Gaga truly committed. She spent an hour with me for a Q&A, at which we sketched out the issue, and then flew to our London office to write stories and meet the staff, led by our EIC Maggie Samways. The main subject? LGBTQ rights. With Metro's marketing muscle—a contest, flash mobs, social media—the issue was covered by the BBC, Tweeted by Gaga, and seen by more than 800 million people.

Will Smith

Interviewer | Editor

In one of our biggest special issues, the Fresh Prince and I met to discuss his controversial parenting, his relationship with Jada, and son Jaden's music career, as well as Earth Day. Media outlets around the world picked up the surprising answers, including Access Hollywood, the Daily Mail and more. Then it went viral on Facebook. Overall, the issue reached 247 million people globally.

Richard Branson

Interviewer | Collaborator

Before his October 3rd guest editing gig, I interviewed Branson to set the agenda. He wanted to talk about legalzing drugs. So I brought a joint.
